Want That iOS Text Menu on Your Mac? Try PopClip

PopClip appears when you select text with your mouse on your Mac. Instantly copy & paste, and access actions like search, spelling, dictionary and over 100 more.

I bought PopClip a couple years ago and it quickly became second nature to use the super useful text selection menu that popped up every time I selected text. Not long ago internet utility ninja, Brett Terpstra discovered the same application and took it to another level.1

However, if you don’t want to go crazy with it like he did, PopClip has an amazing page of extensions from which you can download a plethora of super useful tools. This is one of those applications that when I use a Mac that doesn’t have it installed, I instinctively wonder if something is broken when I select text and nothing shows up.

Seriously, give it a free try. I challenge you not to pay a couple bucks for it once you’ve given it a go.

  1. he does that a lot…but in an awesome way ↩
