As laptops become smaller and more ubiquitous, and with the advent of tablets, the idea of taking notes by hand just seems old-fashioned to many students today. Typing your notes is faster — which comes in handy when there's a lot of information to take down. But it turns out there are still advantages to doing things the old-fashioned way.
This isn't new - I've heard it many times before. At the end of this article they mention new technologies like Livescribe which I was always tempted to try out since I love taking notes in an old school Moleskine but I never ponied up the cash while I was in school.
I just got the iPad Pro with Apple Pencil and have found it amazing to write with in apps like Notes Plus or Notability. The future is rad. Wish I had this in school.
